Beware of Fake YouTube Giveaway Scams and Phishing Attempts

Created by James Wong, Modified on Fri, 16 Aug at 5:03 PM by James Wong

A scammer posing as a popular YouTube entity sent out a Google Docs link to viewers claiming that they have won a giveaway and would require them to insert their personal information into the Google Docs survey form. Please do not give out your personal information to anyone on the internet. Official sources would approach you through official sources with their official accounts and not through unofficial or personal WhatsApp or Telegram chat rooms. Another issue is, these scammers would often ask you to purchase gift cards to cover ‘shipping costs’ this is a known scam. Do not fall for it.
